Many clients that bring their pups to camp at Alpine Dog Ranch ask me if their dogs will miss them or will their dogs get homesick while they are away. Some dogs pine and whine a little at the gate when their family leaves but once they hit the trail and meet all their new doggie friends they are happy! I have pups stay at the ranch for 6 months or 2 years while their families are deployed or on sabbatical and when they return their dogs greet them like they left yesterday. The wonderful thing about dogs is that they are not burdened by time. They are in the moment and life for them is just a series of moments. We could learn a lot from our four legged friends! Time is, after all, a man made phenomenon and we can find true joy and satisfaction from life by being like our pups and living in the moment!
